EXPLORING APPLE’S LATEST IPHONE RANGE: THE IPHONE XR, XS AND XS MAX

Innovative. Overpriced. Revolutionary. Overrated. Wonderful. 

Regardless of your opinion concerning the most recent iPhone range which was released at the #AppleEvent in California on Wednesday (September 12), Apple has certainly got the world talking… once again.

Its new range of three smartphones and a smartwatch will hit consumers across the globe very soon.

The iPhone XS Max, the iPhone XS and the iPhone XR are the latest models to the market. Syn-Star explores what is new about each model – and are they really worth their price tag? Well, we’ll leave that for you to decide!

The iPhone XR

Branded as “Brilliant. In every way” the iPhone XR is available in six different colours and comes with a more affordable price – from £749. This device has:

  • The largest ever LCD screen on an iPhone (6.1”) – although it is a lower quality
  • 12MP rear camera
  • Liquid retina display – the most advanced LCD in the industry
  • Innovative backlight design allowing the screen to stretch into the corners – enhancing the visual experience
  • Tap to wake
  • Wireless charging
  • Up to 50% faster graphic performance
  • Up to 15% faster performance cores
  • Up to 50% lower power usage in efficiency cores
  • 8-core neural engine
  • Enhanced image signal processor
  • Advanced performance controller

The iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max

These phones are almost identical – other than their size and the fact that one is considerably pricier than the other.

The iPhone XS is going to be available to consumers from £999. The iPhone XS Max will begin at £999 and stretches to £1,099 depending on the size of memory on the phone. Even though the iPhone XS’ screen is 6.5inches compared to the 5.8inches on the iPhone XS, many of the smartphones’ features are the same:

  • More durable glass
  • More water and dust resistant
  • Wireless charging – even faster than the current iPhone X
  • Up to 50% faster graphic performance
  • Up to 15% faster performance cores
  • Up to 50% lower power usage in efficiency cores
  • Faster and more secure Face ID
  • The fastest and most powerful chip in a smartphone
  • Dual camera system
  • All-new depth control

Of all the upgraded features on the iPhone models, there is one thing in particular Apple is shouting about. Their upgrade ‘all-new depth control’ allows users to adjust the blurriness of a background when taking a profile shot – after the shot has been taken.

This new feature will give people the ability to truly create the perfect profile shot allowing users to add that professional-looking touch.

In all, the novelty of the new iPhone models will continue for some time. Along with the new SmartWatch and other existing Apple products, who knows what will be released next…
