Four innovations that are moving from Sci-fi to reality!

With technology innovation moving at lightspeed it’s time to look at some of the most terrifyingly futuristic tech coming soon.

Here is a list of new tech inventions that you might not have heard about yet!

Sound Beaming Speakers

First up we have probably the closest bit of tech you can put on next year’s Christmas list!

This technology works by creating sound bubbles around a listener’s head. This sound can be heard by the listener as if coming from a speaker but will not be heard by anyone else in the room!

Product manager Ayana Wallwater said: ‘You don’t believe it because it sounds like a speaker, but no one else can hear it.’

Sound beaming technology isn’t a brand-new idea but Noveto have created the first consumer product which should be available in 2021.

RealWear’s Hands-free Tablet

Realwear offers a head-mounted android tablet. This flagship product is controlled by voice and also offers noise cancelling capabilities.

The new tech is designed to allow workers in the field to receive information, guidance or training while working. This allows these workers to remain fully aware of their surroundings and have free hands to complete tasks.

This technology can be utilised by healthcare professionals such as surgeons, bomb disposal officers in the military and transportation workers such as train drivers. The ability to communicate with team members hands-free too makes this an enormously wide-serving piece of innovation.

I’m not sure I’m ready for cyborg train drivers just yet though!

Oppo’s Rollable Phone

Foldable touch screen phones seem to be the next big thing on the way but the Chinese company Oppo seems to be trying to skip a step and head straight for rollable phones!

Their new concept device begins as a 6.7 inch OLED screen which stretches to 7.4 inches. The idea of the phone is that you can have plenty of screen space without a crease in the middle of your picture and yet still fit the phone handily in your pocket.

While rollable or stretch phones may still be a little way off, it’s an exciting (and not too scary) bit of tech for the future!

BMW’s Wingsuit

Finally, you may be able to fly to work soon enough!

Well, that may be a little bit of a stretch, however BMW have built and tested the first ever electrified wingsuit.

The suit was tested by Air sports hero Peter Salzmann who reached speeds of 186 mph on its first flight. The concept device now has goals to increase its five-minute range and overall performance.

The next challenge for BMW is to fly between skyscrapers in South Korea and the Austrian daredevil pilot said: ‘I will have to train more, we will optimize the technique and look ahead boldly.’

This tech that is slowly making the transition from sci-fi wonders to modern realities is incredible. These innovations and so much more will be making their way into the public eye very soon and we can’t wait!
